My partner and I are here on a business trip. We are currently in Wuyi and will be here for the next two months or more. No one speaks english here and it is very difficult to do things even the China Mobile customer service line is in Chinese. we both own an iphone 3G and would also like to make calls overseas (Fiji, Australia and New Zealand mainly). Also a data plan for my partner @ 2000MB per month is necessary. Please advise on the most easiest and quickest way to go about this. Thank you

Do you have Shanghai local numbers for the SIM cards or are they from another region? I would prefer a shanghai number to avoid constant roaming charges.

This is a Zhejiang number. If you will be in Shanghai for a few long time ( 2 months or more ) you can buy a Shanghai SIM card. Shanghai number also has GPRS supported however the first month no plan avaiable and you have to pay 10 rmb /mb for GPRS traffic.

I'm traveling to China from Oct 22 to Nov 6th. I'm looking for a GPRS/Edge data plan for my unlocked T-Mobile smartphone (quad band). But I believe I've read that activating an M-Zone bundle will only take effect at the beginning of each month? This is a problem for me and the normal rates without a bundle are high. Does this apply to this card too? Or will I receive the 5000MB of data at this price that I can use during my travel time? Thank you.

For this card, the first plan was actived at once when you applied. Then when you change or update your plan it will be actived on the first day of next month. The traffic of a plan are all for one month.
