Is international direct dial activated on China Mobile Beijing sim cards?
On prepaid China Mobile Beijing sim cards, is international direct dial and GPRS services activated, or must these be activated separately for use? How would I do this?

China Mobile SIM cards from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and anywhere else are closed international Direct Dail service. If you need IDD service, you have to take your passport or ID card to local China Mobile service hall to active it and a deposit is required, the amount depends on the card location. For a Beijing SIM Card , 12593 service is a good choice also it is actived for most cards. It's cheaper, call from Beijing to USA, Canada, Hong Kong only charges 0.40 yuan/min. You only need to dail 12593 + 00 + country code + area code + phone number for a international calling.

Now for a China Mobile Shanghai sim card, real name register and 3 months service period required, then one can apply 12593 service. Only Shanghai local use has discount rates if roaming use, 8.00 yuan/min.

For a China Mobile Beijing Mobile sim card, 200 yuan credit required, or 100 yuan and real name registered to apply 12593 service, this service only supports Beijing local use, for roaming use, 17951 service is available however more expensive.
